This is the cookie statement of De Tester. This statement is about the placement and reading of cookies and similar techniques such as web beacons, tracking pixels, fingerprint devices, mechanisms for our app and Javascripts (hereafter collectively: cookies). Hereafter
It is possible that we adapt the cookie statement if new developments require it. You can always download the latest version to stay informed of changes.

Cookies are required, among other things, to make our shop work properly and be more user-friendly for you. It works like this: your computer, smartphone or tablet stores small files when you use our website and/or app. An advantage of this is that we can recognize you and make sure you don’t have to fill in your details again and again.
Don’t want cookies? You can always change your settings or delete cookies yourself. If you disable cookies, you can no longer use certain features of our site and the website may not work as well.
To give or not to give permission
We do not need to ask your permission to place and read out certain cookies. This applies to cookies that are necessary for communication via the Internet, cookies that are only used to provide our services or analytical cookies that have no or minimal impact on your privacy. For other cookies we ask your permission before we place them and read them out. We do this through the cookie banner in our shop. It states that you accept cookies by continuing to click in our shop. Do you not want to accept cookies? Then you can choose to go to another website or app with similar content. For the tagging of specific content in our shop, we use Google Tag Manager. This helps us determine which cookies we can place and which content we can save. Because as we explained above, for some cookies we do need to ask your permission and for some cookies we don’t. When using Google Tag Manager, we adhere to the guidelines of the GDPR.
Cookies in our app
For our app, we use direct integrations with third parties via an SDK. An SDK stands for Software Development Kit. This is the software we integrate into the De Tester app to provide chat functionality, for example.
These cookies we use:
Functional cookies
These cookies make sure our shop works properly. For example, logging in, remembering information so you don’t have to fill in everything over and over again, putting items in your shopping basket and remembering your shopping basket. In our app, these cookies are needed for example to send push messages or offer a chat with our customer service.
Analytical cookies
With these cookies we measure and analyze how you use our shop and what we can change to improve your experience. Both on the website and in our app. For example, we measure how many customers use our app and which parts are most interesting to our visitors. We also use third-party software for this, such as Google Analytics, which we have set up to be privacy friendly. Good to know: the statistics and reports cannot be traced back to individuals.
Marketing cookies
We place ads on other websites and in other apps. To match these ads with your interests as closely as possible, we collect data from your visit to get an idea of possible interests. These cookies also enable us to keep track of which advertisements you have already seen, so that you don’t keep seeing the same banners, for example.
Social media marketing cookies
These allow us to remember your preferences and interests. This is useful because it allows us to provide our website and app with information that is as relevant as possible to you. We try to tailor the website and De Tester app to you as much as possible. In addition, based on your behavior, we can, for example, show you in advertisements articles that we think will suit you better, instead of articles that you probably have less interest in.
About third party cookies:
the cookies that social media and third parties place and the possible data they collect with them, we refer you to the statements of these parties on their own websites. Please note that these statements can change regularly: De Tester has no influence on this.

Additional information about Google Analytics and Google Adwords:
(1) Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc (“Google”). Google Analytics uses a specific type of “cookie” or text file that is stored in your computer and allows an analysis of your website use. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Please note that on this website Google Analytics has been extended with the code “gat._anonymizeIp();” to ensure anonymized registration of IP addresses (so-called IP masking). Thanks to IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will be truncated by Google within the European Union and the European Economic Area treaty countries. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google will use this information on our behalf in order to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide additional services to the website operator relating to website and internet usage. The IP address sent by your browser to Google Analytics will not be consolidated with other Google data. You can prevent the storage of cookies by enabling this via the relevant setting of your browser, see section 5 c), above. In addition, you can prevent Google from recording the data collected by the cookies and related to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) and processing them by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the link https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en. Further information on terms of use and data protection can be found at

(2) Google AdWords
This website uses Google AdWords, a web analytics service provided by Google, as well as Conversion Tracking, a component of Google AdWords. This works as follows: When you click on an advertisement displayed by Google, Google AdWords saves a conversion tracking cookie (a “conversion cookie”) on your computer’s hard drive. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and prevent you from being personally identified. If you visit certain pages on our website, Google and we see that you have clicked on the advertisement and have been forwarded to this page.
The information obtained using the conversion cookies serves to generate statistics for AdWords customers who use conversion tracking. These statistics inform us of the total number of users who have clicked on the advertisement displayed by Google and visited a page provided with a conversion tracking tag.
With Google’s remarketing function, we reach users who have previously visited our website. This enables us to present our advertising to target groups that are already interested in our products or services. AdWords additionally determines, based on user behavior on websites within Google’s advertising network (“display network”) during the past 30 days and with the help of the context related search engine, which common interests and characteristics the users of our website have. Based on this information, AdWords then finds new potential customers for marketing purposes whose interests and characteristics are similar to those of our website users. The target group specific remarketing occurs through the combined use of cookies, such as e.g. Google Analytics cookies and Google DoubleClick cookies.
For more information on the terms of use and data security in the context of Google AdWords, please go to: http://www.google.de/policies/technologies/ads/
