At-home allergy test: test intolerances yourself

Do you constantly have a runny nose, keep sneezing, do your eyes water — but you’re not actually sick? Then it may be an allergy, which you can easily detect yourself at home with The Tester’s at-home tests. The CE-certified at-home allergy tests offer a comfortable, quick and reliable way to identify the causes of allergy symptoms — without a doctor’s visit.

Whether you suspect pollen, animal hair, house dust or a food intolerance: with The Tester’s allergy tests you can get started right after delivery. Using the simple instructions for use, you’ll know within minutes whether your symptoms are caused by an allergy.

How does an at-home allergy test work?

As soon as the allergy test arrives at your home after ordering, you can start the testing process. This is described in detail for each test on the product page and in the instructions for use, so you can be sure to perform the test correctly. All allergy tests from The Tester generally proceed as follows:

  1. Read the instructions for use
  2. Unpack the test cassette and place it on a clean, flat surface
  3. Disinfect the fingertip, massage it and use the lancet to take a drop of blood
  4. Apply the drop of blood to the test cassette
  5. Wait the specified time and read the result using the enclosed explanation

If you have any doubts about the procedure, The Tester’s experts will be happy to help.

Intolerances vs. allergies

Allergies and intolerances are often lumped together, but they differ clearly. With allergies, the immune system reacts in particular, while intolerances usually stem from problems with digestion. Typical signs of an intolerance therefore often include bloating, stomach pain or skin reactions, whereas allergies more often present with flu-like complaints such as sneezing, a runny nose or itchy eyes.

You can, however, test both comfortably at home with The Tester’s self-tests, which can save you an initial doctor’s visit and — especially for a food intolerance — allow you to start adjusting your diet right away. You can test the following intolerances with The Tester self-test:

  • Egg
  • Gluten
  • Milk
  • All-in-one test for egg, milk and gluten

In addition to intolerances, you can also test for allergies at home with a self-test. Many people suffer from mild allergies that are not very noticeable in everyday life, but can become worse and more bothersome over time. With an allergy test you gain initial certainty and, in the worst case, you can plan treatment for the symptoms together with a doctor. The allergies you can check with The Tester’s self-tests are as follows:

  • House dust mites
  • Cats
  • Milk allergy
  • Pollen
  • Comprehensive allergy test (food and respiratory allergies)

Please note that you should have an additional allergy test performed by a specialist for definitive confirmation before beginning any potential treatment.
