Fecal blood is an indicator of various gastrointestinal disorders such as diverticulitis, colitis, polyps, and colorectal cancer. The FOB self-test from The Tester is a quick, qualitative test for home use to detect the presence of hidden (fecal occult) blood in the stool.

This FOB self-test is intended as an aid in the diagnosis of gastrointestinal disorders and detects the presence of human hemoglobin (Hb) at a cut-off level of 40 ng/ml and uses antibodies targeted against human hemoglobin to detect blood in the stool. If the sample contains this antigen, a colored test line appears, indicating a positive result.
The reliability of self-tests is determined based on true positive and true negative results and was established after a clinical trial with 646 participants and is higher than 94%.

The FOB Self-Test has high-reliability values in terms of sensitivity and specificity. Additionally, the test is CE certified.
The sensitivity of a medical test is the percentage of correct positive results among sick individuals.
Sensitivity = 99%
The specificity of a test is the percentage of correct negative test results among non-sick individuals.
Specificity = 94%
Instructions for use
- Remove the lancet from the buffer vial
- Press the lancet into your stool three times
- Put the lancet back into the buffer vial and shake the vial well
- Add two drops from the buffer vial into the test cassette
- Wait for 5 minutes and read the result.
