Iron plays an important role in providing oxygen to the body and in metabolism. Iron deficiency can lead to fatigue, paleness, and headaches. Serious palpitations or shortness of breath after exertion are also possible symptoms. About 2 out of 10 children and fertile women suffer from iron deficiency. With the Iron Deficiency Self-Test from The Tester, you can determine within minutes if your symptoms are caused by an iron deficiency and if you need an iron supplement. The self-test features include:
- Easy to perform
- Reliable (CE certified)
- Immediate results
- Orders placed on weekdays will be delivered the next day
The iron deficiency self-test measures the concentration of ferritin in your blood, which is a measure of the amount of iron in your body. Ferritin is a protein that binds and stores iron in the cells of the liver and bone marrow. The test is abnormal when you have less than 20ng/ml of ferritin in your blood, indicating that your body has too little iron.
The reliability of self-tests is determined based on correctly positive and correctly negative results, and this iron deficiency self-test has been established after a clinical trial with 106 participants, achieving reliability values of over 95%. This means that the self-test provides results comparable to laboratory tests.
If you are interested in more information, such as the instructions for use or the reliability of the test, you can find this information at the beginning of this text under the headings “Reliability”, “Instructions for use” and/or “Contents of the test.”
