Lyme disease can affect the nervous system and cause serious neurological disorders. Early treatment is crucial to reducing the symptoms of the disease. The Lyme tick bite self-test can detect the presence of antibodies against Borrelia in the blood 2-4 weeks after the tick bite. This period is known as the incubation period, during which the immune system begins to produce antibodies to fight the bacteria.
A rash or redness around the tick bite may appear 3-10 days after the bite, but in more than 50% of cases, no rash is present. This is why it is important to test yourself for the disease.
