How does the methadone test work?

The test is easy to use and takes only a few minutes:

• Make sure the test and the urine are at room temperature
• Open the packaging and remove the cap from the test dipcard
• Collect a urine sample in the included cup
• Dip the strips into the urine for 10–15 seconds (keep the plastic part dry)
• Put the cap back on and place the test on a flat surface
• Read the result after 5 minutes (not after 10 minutes)

Reading the results

• Positive result: One line in the control area, no line in the test area – indication that methadone has been detected
• Negative result: Two lines – indication that methadone has not been detected
• Invalid result: No line in the control area – repeat the test with a new test kit

If confirmation is needed, additional (laboratory) testing can be considered.
