This bladder infection test checks for three different types of bacteria: Leukocytes, Nitrites and Protein. These bacteria can be present in the urinary tract (urethra, bladder, ureters, and kidneys) and often lead to infections and inflammation.
- Easy to perform
- Reliable (CE-certified)
- Instant results
This test is suitable for anyone who has ever experienced problems with their urinary tract. Men, women and children can get urinary tract infections, but it is mainly women who experience them. Older men may also be more susceptible as an enlarged prostate can impede urine flow.
In healthy individuals, urine is sterile (meaning it does not contain microorganisms). One of the best ways to keep your urinary tract sterile is by emptying your bladder completely at regular intervals. Generally, an infection starts in the urethra and can then spread to the upper urinary tract up to the kidneys. Symptoms can vary greatly: burning when urinating or a strong urge to urinate. The urine may also be cloudy or have a strong odor.
